Hello all, new to this forum. Have a question/request.
Have been fighting water mysteriously showing up in my boat when it's in the water.

I have a 2005 Lund Explorer SS 1700.
Been having major issues with the livewell hosing.

I have 2 live wells/bait wells one in the back and in the front. My issue is with the front one. I have had to replace the fill hose (tore up the back and front to get at it. Had a hole in the hose probably from freezing in winter). But now it appears that I still have a leak at the front live well. When I drain the live well (which drains below the live well in the front directly out the bottom of the boat). After I drain it water still is in the drain hole so I blow it out and that is when the water shows up.
I am asking if anyone has an idea on how the drain for this is setup. I am getting ready to tear out the deck (again) but want to be prepared for parts.
Your help would be appreciated.

My Lund is a 1993 Tyee. I just got done with a complete "rip and replace" and so I got a really good idea of how these livewells work. You know now that you have a manufactured "hole" or better, a penetration that is comprised of a 1" aluminum pipe that forms a 90 degree angle up from the interior of the hull for 4" or so and then angles straight back toward the console(s). There is a single clamped hose that goes from this pipe to the plastic drain in the bottom of your livewell. That whole path is for passive draining (and to a limited degree) for some passive (but minimal) filling. The real path for filling my 2 livewells is a "pulling" pump in the stern of the boat. That pump pulls water from outside the boat and pushes it up to a "tee" that feeds each livewell"s aerator/filling valve--which is higher up the side or the end of the livewell. So for you, the livewell "almost" empties but not completely and when you blew air in there, it has started leaking. I think the air may have created a hole somewhere--but only leaks after most of the water has evacuated. I set up my hoses so there is a slight curve but for expansion/contraction but nothing approaching hose lying in the bottom of the boat---and I understand you have made no mention of this in your case---I'm just trying to work this out. I assume the water is enough to be noticable in the bilge. The drain hose may be the culprit because you don't see water in the bilge on filling, just draining. One thing interesting on my Lund was that both reinforced drain hoses under the 2 livewells had collapsed which I thought was odd. The previous owner mentioned he had issues with his livewells. Because the Tyee I have doesn't have an enormous amount of storage, I actually took the "tee" out where the pulling pump splits water to both livewells; this gave me back one of the livewells for dry storage.
