Ski pylon on a Lund Fisherman?

Trying to make my Lund fisherman 1875 work with a Ski pylon for the kids. The issue is the tow rope rides in the water when tubing. Is there any way I can get the rope higher? Consdering a sky pylon though I read online about people saying they it doesnt work well on a Lund. Tips?
 
Putting a ski pylon on your Lund fisherman 1875 can help raise the tow point, keepin the rope out of the water and making for a smoother pull when tubing. But some Lund boat owners have had trouble installing them because of how the boat is built. One owner mentioned that they got a Swivel-Eze Pro Ski Pylon on their 2001 1800 Fisherman by adding some support to the floor with a treated board and using bolts and lock washers to hold it all in place

For sure, the rope in the water's a drag, I think a ski pylon's a good move, but you might need a mounting plate to make it work on your Lund, I heard some guys even rig up custom setups

Nice. Gotta check that mountain plate you just mentioned, thanks. Will be updating soon. Been real busy this past few weeks.
 
Yeah, that totally makes sense, raising the tow point really does help with the pull angle. I've also heard that Lund installs can be a bit tricky. Adding that floor support was a smart idea

yeah, you're not alone, man. I've heard the same about some Lunds not being ideal for pylons.
Have you looked into wakeboard towers as an alternative to a traditional ski pylon? Or perhaps a booster ball on the tow rope itself might help lift it even with a lower tow point?

It might not look "great" but my thought was to build a 5 foot ski pylon for my 1993 Tyee. I was thinking of bolting bilge support for the pylon by taking advantage of the bilge/keel area "standoff" longitudinal supports for the gas tank and then bolting "quick connect" fixture points on top of each aft gunnell. The gunnels are already reinforced with 1/2 inch ply so support could be augmented there. So the pylon would have low angle support from below , at the splashwell, and bar or tube supports on each side (the gunnells). Welding in the bilge keel area with TIG would be very doable.
