Man, I'm helping my uncle lookin' for this boat he wants, right? Talked to the dealer, and they're askin' more than $70 grand for a lund 1875 pro v bass for sale!

Okay, okay... I know this thing's got all the bells and whistles, like 200 Pro XS, Ultrex trolling motor, three fish finders, two Power-Poles, jackplate, hotfoot... but holy cow, that seems like a crazy high price for an aluminum boat, ya know?

I even saw a 20ft Skeeter, loaded up just about the same way with a bigger 250 Yamaha and everything else matchin' up, for the same dang price!

I'm just tryin' to figure out how to get it at a lower price, I know my uncle wants this particular model so much. Is buying a used boat a good idea?

Yeah, that price is wild, buying used could save a lot especially if it's in good shape. You might find a deal with a similar setup and skip the steep new-boat price

So. You need to look at used. I just now am finishing a 1993 Lund Tyee complete makeover. I am in approx. $39k.
$10K for the boat.
Transom cost $3k...Coosa, epoxy, EV foam, paint/primer.
ALL WOOD REPLACED...$3300....4 sheets 3/4" 3 sheets 1/2", epoxy, Glue, EV foam, and carpet/vinyl, hardware
New Helm...$3850...power steering, gauges , ABS gauge plate, stereo, VHF etc,
Garmin Kraken $4000
4 Garmin Chartplotters $2800
SeaSwivel for trolling motor $1200
6 new hatches $1400
Hull and side carpet $700
5 Lithium batteries $3700
Wiring $1800
Hardware fasteners $300
Probably be able to save a couple grand off this number as I made a couple mistakes and had to buy a few items twice.
